ON-SITE INSTALLATION METHODS EQUIPMENT Welding equipment and polishing equipment may be required to be used on site. The work undertaken is carried out by fully trained operatives. The Counters will arrive in sectional condition according to access, whereupon assembly will take place on site by all relevant trades, thus creating a fully homogeneous finish. The equipment used is of the Argon Tig type. We agree to comply with your Health and Safety Requirements covering HOTWORKING and SITE WELDING that may be applicable. A specific Method Statement covering the process of on site work will be issued nearer to our installation date. SUPERVISION - ON SITE All PROMART employees involved with site work are full time tradesmen. They would have all worked on the particular counter(s) during manufacture and site employees represent a cross section of skills. We have three site supervisors, one of which will be named prior to commencement of the on site work. |

SUBSTANCES / PROTECTIVE CLOTHING There are no chemicals used on site other than cleaning agents. Normal safety precautions are taken in connection with grinding, polishing etc by the use of goggles, gloves, overalls, boots etc. It is normal for our on site personnel to follow instructions appertaining to Health & Safety policies as issued by the client company. COSHH sheets will be issued for the cleaning agents if these are required. NOISE Where exposure to noise greater than 85 dba is expected to be generated safety and protective equipment such as ear muffs are supplied to all PROMART employees visiting site. WORK AREAS Service counters are normally one of the final pieces of furniture to be supplied, therefore screening is not necessary. In the event of other trades still working in close proximity, it would be their responsibility to screen their area if necessary. ACCESS EQUIPMENT Any movement of counters to gain access to the final position is carried out by using special wheeled dollies. No scaffolding or ladders are normally required for our type of work. CLEANING / DISPOSAL OF DEBRIS The counter will be wiped down with a solvent, but will require clinically cleaning by others. All areas affected by our installation will be brushed and all debris and packaging will be removed. If a designated area is provided on site, the above will be taken there or if not returned to our works. PROTECTION OF FINISHED UNITS Allowance has been made for the counters to be wrapped in fire rated Correx for the time gap between installation and commissioning. HOURS OF WORK Normally installations of this type would require a 12 hour day in order to facilitate completion, we will however observe the site working hours applicable. SITE ACCOMMODATION Our operatives will adhere to the site working hours as stipulated. They will use the on site facilities, i.e. toilet, canteen etc, as directed. No site cabin/ office is required by our team. PLANT PROPOSALS / SERVICES With the exception of the provided services i.e. water, electricity supply, lighting etc, no other plant is used that would require any special requirement of additional services. UNLOADING It is anticipated that the counters will be split prior to packaging and dispatched to allow for access conditions on site. Our team of installation engineers, assist the delivery team in off-loading and positioning of the counters, in accordance with management/ design team instructions. CONTINUOUS WORK / ADVERSE WEATHER We are proud of our record that exists for never being late in adhering to installation timings. Weather conditions would have to be severe to have an effect upon our continuous work through to installation, and attendance. HEALTH & SAFETY All current procedures and legislations applicable to COSHH, Health & Safety and electrical regulations are fully adhered to. GENERAL This statement generally refers to our methods applied on site. Item 1A enclosed within the package returned, covers the methods adopted within our factory environment. COSHH All current procedures and legislations applicable to COSHH, Health & Safety and general electrical regulations are fully adhered to. An inspection is welcomed of our documents and procedures. PACKAGING Our units are suitably wrapped and protected prior to despatch from our works. Transportation, off-loading, positioning and installation is carried out by our own operatives and the uppermost care and attention is taken. Having packed the items themselves the operatives are aware of particularly fragile areas. The counters will be manufactured in split framework sections to allow for any access restrictions. BUILDING WORK There is a minimal amount of building works required. It is expected that all drainage, water supplies and electrical services are being provided to termination points, to be agreed, or as stipulated within your documentation. Our counters include for MCBs, drainage tail pipes and allowance for integral or remote refrigeration where applicable. |
