Alan Davies, Managing Director of PROMART says “A completely new range of techniques have been carefully designed and exhaustively tested. Although practically all of our food servery counters are specifically designed and finished to suit highly individual locations, many of the functional features of our systems lend themselves to repeatable design and manufacturing methods. For example, a customer who might ask for a unique styling to a carvery counter will still get a bespoke design, its just that , using our new techniques and equipment, many of the functional aspects of perhaps a heated storage cupboard underneath the counter can now be manufactured more competitively. Without compromising on quality or style, this puts our counters within reach of a broader market”.
The new equipment is capable of producing very accurate and intricate shapes in a variety of materials. This is not only useful when manufacturing something as mundane as a cupboard shelf, the intricacy also actually greatly extends the design and finish possibilities that PROMART can offer. More customers will find that their exciting design requests can be met with greater and more economical ease.

I saw one of the new machines in action during a recent visit to their premises and the phrase “faster than the eye can see” comes to mind. Once set up and programmed, the machine only took a second or two to orientate itself on the sheet of stainless steel positioned on its work bed and then, very quickly, an intricate and shiny ventilation grill for a chilled drinks counter was punched out within a few seconds more. The specially trained operator revealed to me that already they have thousands of designs programmed and stored for instant use and that, although PROMART has been using this kind of technology for many years, the new equipment is much faster and more capable than ever. He also mentioned that PROMART intend to scale up their production to an even greater degree next year.

To accommodate the growing inventory of new equipment PROMART will soon be extending its factory floor area and the new investments will continue well into 2004. Although PROMART has a busy order book, they've carefully scheduled the installations to avoid any disruptions to their hectic production programme.
